What rhythms does homeland carry in the heart? Đặng Quang Tiến's (1992) memories of the Mekong Delta, where his "Chạy Đồng" (Running Fields) series captures watercolor ducks in an eternal dance. These creatures seem to remember afternoons when time moved differently, inviting our own memories to surface like ripples on still water.
Artist Mzung Nguyen
What remains when waves recede? Mzung Nguyễn (1982) who started out as a documentary filmmaker before developing her fine art practice turns her gaze inward, expanding into sculpture, painting, and installation. Her Đông Hải (East Sea) series weaves coral, steel mesh, and archived newspapers into fragile forms that echo both reef and city - delicate, layered, and quietly eroding.
Artist Phạm Xeen
How does vulnerability become a pathway to beauty? Phạm Xeen (1994), who paints without glasses—reimagining the blurred vision his father lived with after suffering a stroke. His clouds of paint drift like unspoken thoughts, his cityscapes an elegy of quiet surrender, his pastoral scenes a poetry of muted longing.
Artist Bach Vu
What emerges when journeys come full circle? Bách Vũ (1993) shows us, returning from London's financial towers back to Vietnam's creative heart of Hanoi, walking the artistic path once paved by his father, Thắng Vũ. At ÚNU Cocktails & Eatery, his black-and-white triptych painting The Endless Drifting of an Unconscious Mind (2024) welcomes guests into soft, smoke-like motion —- like dreams that dissolve before words arrive.

Where do colors carry the weight of memory? Lê Phi Long (1988) paints with blues that recall distant oceans, golds that shimmer like sunlight through silk, and silver that echoes forgotten moonlight. His Đông Dương Lãng Du series (Indochina Wanderings) evokes the quiet tension of beauty shaped by hardship. Lotuses rise not from serene ponds, but from weathered, cracked roots - symbols of endurance blooming through time.

What whispers might echo among intricate details? Tuýp Trần (1988) weaves mandalas, dragons, and phoenixes onto traditional dó paper—each stroke a quiet meditation. His Once Upon A Time and Lột Xác (Shedding Skin) works unfold like visual mantras, guiding us through cycles of becoming - mapping a soul's patient pilgrimage through the shifting geometry of self.

Where do emotions live before they form words? ANIMA’s Wellbeing Center becomes a sanctuary for reflection through the works of Lê Quốc Anh (1999). Raised between Hà Nội, Huế, and Sài Gòn cities of memory and movement— — Quốc Anh paints not what is seen, but what is sensed. In System (2014), a single red line interrupts black and white like breath breaking silence. In Outrenoir (2023) and Sound II (2024), hidden snippets of text sleep beneath black layers - waiting not to be read, but to be remembered. His works ask gently: What part of yourself will you recognize, when there is nothing left but feeling?

Hoàng Nam Việt (1985), a Saigon-born painter of the post–Đổi Mới generation, turns to the canvas as a quiet form of confession. His simplified portraits often emerge from memories of friends, family, or visitors to Hoàng Thị Café—figures that feel fragile yet resolute, like traces of an unfinished dream. In these restrained forms, love, doubt, and the complexities of the human mind gently surface.

Ở đó, hơi thở truyền thống mộc mạc vẫn êm đềm nhịp bước, hòa điệu cùng guồng quay vội vã của thời đại.

On the 1st floor of ANIMA, artist Hoang Nam Viet @vietdinho presents a deeply embodied self-dialogue through the series `𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐚 𝐋𝐨𝐯𝐞` (𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔).
A self-taught painter, tattoo artist, and entrepreneur, he distills raw materials from his life’s journey to expose his inner world on the white canvas. His characters appear fragile yet resilient, as if emerging from memory or an unfulfilled dream.
What exists within this dialogue between the feminine and the masculine, between the `covenants` of bliss and scars?

Uncertain, delicate - where light and form dissolve into one another.
For artist Phạm Xeen, that very question marked the beginning of a new creative journey.
Amid personal upheavals, he began to look at his art differently, stepping into his father’s world, where memories and images intertwine, fragile and disordered, suspended between reality and dream.
He took off his glasses and observed with bare eyes, letting colors and light merge freely, blurring the boundaries between brightness and shadow.
Within the third floor of ANIMA, his works unfold like doorways into the inner self - inviting viewers to listen, to feel, and to find serenity within the shifting shades of emotion.
