Our inspiration

The Artist Retreat Room deepens your immersion, offering a fuller expression of the featured artist’s world. Each Signature Room is shaped by a distinct emotional palette: some serene and spacious, others raw and tactile. Wherever your floor leads you, the room becomes a frame through which art and self meet.

Tuyp Tran

Born in 1988, Tuyp Tran is well-renowned within the Vietnamese creative scene, having previously run his own design business in Ho Chi Minh City before becoming a full time artist a decade ago. Tuyp’s works at Anima are drawn from two separate series: Once Upon A Time and Lột Xác (i.e. “Shedding Skin”).

Dang Quang Tien

Dang Quang Tien (born 1992) is a true painters’ painter, he has been painting watercolors of the same subject with singular focus for years now: specifically, ducks, an animal which is commonly raised by farmers in Vietnam. In his series Chạy Đồng (“Drifting Fields”), he depicts ducks primarily in an earthy palette of yellow and brown, against a background of rice paddies, evoking the feeling of the arid dry season — but sometimes he introduces bright neon colors into his compositions, giving the work a distinctively contemporary twist that effectively captures the experience of Vietnam today, where LED signage is abundant.

Le Phi Long

For many years, Le Phi Long (born 1988) has been exploring the history of French Colonialism in Vietnam through a series titled Đông Dương Lãng Du (“Wandering Indochina”), in which he developed a distinctive artistic voice, and a particular predilection for the colors blue, gold, and silver. His Đông Dương Lãng Du series evokes the quiet tension of beauty shaped by hardship. Lotuses rise not from serene ponds, but from weathered, cracked roots symbols of endurance blooming through time.

Each Artist Room is a quiet invitation into an artist’s inner world. Each floor is curated by a contemporary Vietnamese artist. Their artworks, materials, and moods give each room a distinct emotional tone so no two Artist Rooms feel the same.

Each room type has a different layout and light condition. Some rooms offer city views and abundant daylight, while others are more inward-facing, designed as cozy retreats. Please refer to the room descriptions or ask our team for personalized recommendations.
